Identify the incorrect statement about ‘Saheli’ pills.
Saheli is a type of oral contraceptive pill. It was developed by the Central Drug Research Institute (CDRI), Lucknow. It contains a non-steroidal preparation called centchroman. This molecule offers its advantage in providing a combination of weak estrogenic and potent anti-estrogenic properties. This prevents the fertilised ovum from implantation by hastening its transfer to the fallopian tubes before it becomes ready for implantation and thus prevents pregnancy. It is a highly effective drug with almost no side effects due to its non-steroidal biochemical nature. Discontinuation of the drug can lead to reversal to the normal pregnancy process with normal outcomes.
