Identify the incorrect statement(s) regarding spinal cord of CNS.
1. Extends from medulla from occipital bone upto the first lumbar vertebrae.
2. Similar to brain has outer gray matter and inner white matter.
3. Acts as a link between brain and the somatic organs of PNS.
4. Controls basic reflex actions.
2
Statement 2 is incorrect because the spinal cord is a cylindrical structure forming an extension of the brain. They have protective layers similar to the brain but unlike the brain is composed of white matter in the outer margin and gray matter inner to it. The neuronal cell body or cyton forms the grey matter and the myelinated axons that form part of the nerve fibres form the white matter.
