Identify the labelled parts of the given ovule.
(i) - Micropyle, (ii) - Nucellus, (iii) - Embryo Sac, (iv) - Chalaza, (v) - Funicle
Ovule is attached to placenta by the funicle. Inside the ovule nucellus is present. It is protected by one or two integuments. Integuments leave a pore called micropyle through which the pollen tube enters the ovule. Opposite to micropyle the tissue connecting the nucellus and the integuments called chalaza is present. Mature ovule consists of embryo sac embedded in the nucellar tissue. The micropyle and the funicle are connected via the hilum.
