Luteinizing hormone – Failure of ovulation
Ovulation occurs under the influence of luteinizing hormone and FSH (follicle stimulating hormone) of anterior pituitary gland. Thus, deficiency of luteinizing hormone results in failure of ovulation. Diabetes mellitus, tetany and diabetes insipidus occur due to deficiency of insulin (secreted from pancreas), parathormone (secreted by parathyroid gland) and vasopressin (ADH) of posterior pituitary respectively.
