Open in App
Solution

Identify the numerical coefficients of the terms

The numerical coefficient of a term is the numerical factor of the term. It is a constant in the expression.

Given expression is x+2xy+3y.

The terms (other than the constant) in the expression are: x, 2xy and 3y.

Their numerical coefficients are:

x12xy23y3

Therefore, the numerical coefficients of the terms x, 2xy and 3y are 1, 2 and 3 respectively.

Note:

When the coefficient is 1, it is omitted in writing the expression.
