Solution

The correct option is D HNO3 & Cu
(0)Cu+(+5)HNO3(dil)(+2)Cu(NO3)2+H2O+(+2)NO.
(0)Cu(reductant)(+2)Cu(NO3)2(oxidation half).
(+5)HNO3(oxidant)(+2)NO(reduction half).
A species which gain electron in a redox reaction is called as reducing agent.
(HNO3) gets converted into nitric oxide (NO). Nitrogen is getting reduced because it is gaining electrons or losing bonds to oxygen, so HNO3 is the oxidizing agent.

A species which looses electron in a redox reaction is called as oxidising agent.
Cu gets converted to Cu2+ Cu is getting oxidized since there is loss of electrons , so it is the reducing agent.

HNO3 and Cu in this order is the correct answer.
