Identify the relationship between oxygen and carbon dioxide in maintaining life processes.
We need oxygen to break down glucose which produces CO2 as a by-product.
Cellular respiration is a process that occurs in each cell of our body. It is the process in which glucose is broken down with the help of oxygen to produce CO2,H2O and more importantly, energy which we require for all our metabolic activities. Hence, we breathe in order to take in oxygen and give out the carbon dioxide that is continuously being formed in the process.
