Solution
Solutions are the homogeneous mixtures of two or more substances in which a solute particle is completely soluble in the solvent and cannot be separated by any physical method.
solute are the substances that are to be dissolved in the solvent. it is the minor component of solute i.e. present in a lesser amount.
Solvents are substances that dissolve other substances. it is the major component of the solution i.e. present in a large amount.
If we take the example of salt and water, salt is solute because it is present in small quantities and water is solvent because it is present in a large amount. similarly, in sugar and water, sugar is solute and water is solvent.
