Solution

The correct option is D P53 genes
Tumor suppressor genes encode the proteins that prevent the cell to progress through the cell cycle and their inactivation causes tumor formation. p53 genes encodes a protein that arrests the cells having damaged DNA in G1 and G2 phases of cell cycle. An imperfect copy of a working gene is called as a pseudogene. SRY gene is present on Y chromosome and is responsible for the development of testis in human males; absence of this gene in females determines feminism. Any gene that encodes a protein capable of cell transformation in culture or induction of cancer in animals is referred to as an oncogene. Thus, the correct answer is option A.
