Muscular tissue consists of contractile elongated cells also called muscle fibres. They are of three types: Skeletal, smooth and cardiac.
The cells of skeletal muscle tissues show alternate dark and light bands called striations. They are long, cylindrical, unbranched and multinucleate (having many nuclei). Skeletal muscles are mostly attached to the bones and help in body movement.
