Solution

Addition reaction

  • Addition Of Hydrogen (H2) to Ethene (Alkene) in presence of catalyst called Nickel (Ni) to form Ethane (Alkane).
  • Double bond is present between atoms of Carbon (C) in Ehtene (Alkene) which is replaced by Hydrogen to form Ethane (Alkane) (Single bond between Carbon atoms).

Formula

Ethane - C2H4 (CHCH)

Ethane - C2H6 (CH3-CH3)

Chemical reaction
