Solution
The correct option is A True
The injured tissue cells and platelets disintegrate at the site of injury and release a substance known as thrombokinase or thromboplastin.
The thrombokinase acts as an enzyme which converts prothrombin (inactive) of the plasma into thrombin (active), with the help of calcium ions present in the plasma.
Thus, without calcium, thrombokinase will not be able to convert inactive prothrombin to active thrombin which is the major component to produce the clot.
