Liquefaction of gases:

  1. When gas is sufficiently cooled, its particles lose sufficient kinetic energy to slow down, and come closer together until they are attracted to one another, and form a liquid.
  2. During liquification, the physical state of a substance changes from gases to liquid.

The two conditions to liquefy gas are-
(i) Low temperature
(ii) High pressure.

Thus, the given statement is true, i.e., at applying high pressure and reducing the temperature, gases can be liquified easily.
