Solution

Reasoning out: 2 Marks

They use the rich clayey soil . Mixed with alluvial soil, this clayey soil
retains moisture and becomes very sticky when wet. Sticky dough becomes easy for the sculptors to carve out idols . Furthermore when dry , clayey soil is becomes so hard that baking becomes redundant. It is beause of these merits that Idol makers in Bengal use rich soil found plentiful on the banks of the river Hooghly.
