Solution

Let A (0,-3) B(0,3) C(x,y)
Such that
AB=BC=AC (equilateral triangle)
AB = square root of 0 plus left parenthesis 3 plus 3 right parenthesis squared end root equals 6

BC = 6
BC =square root of x squared plus left parenthesis y minus 3 right parenthesis squared end root equals 6
x squared plus y squared plus 9 minus 6 y equals 36
x squared plus y squared minus 6 y minus 27 equals 0 ----------(i)

AC = 6
square root of x squared plus left parenthesis negative 3 minus y right parenthesis squared end root equals 6 x squared plus 9 plus y squared plus 6 y equals 36
x squared plus y squared plus 6 y minus 27 equals 0 --------- (ii)

From i and ii
-12y=0
y=0
x = plus-or-minussquare root of 27 equals plus-or-minus 3 square root of 3

The third vertex is either left parenthesis 3 square root of 3 comma 0 right parenthesis space o r space left parenthesis negative 3 square root of 3 comma 0 right parenthesis
