Solution

The correct options are
B (47)3
C (4+7)3
cosx+sinx=12 then tanx is?

cosx+sinx=12

Dividing by cosx

1+sinxcosx=12cosx

=1+tanx=secx2

Squaring on both sides,

(1+tanx)2=sec2x4

4(1+tan2x+2tanx)=sec2x

4+4tan2x+8tanx=1+tan2x .......... [sec2θ=1+tan2θ]

3tan2x+8tanx+3=0

We have a formula for solving quadratic equation ax2+bx+c=0 is

x=b±b24ac2a

tanx=8±824×3×32×3

=8±64366

=8±286

=8±276

=4±73
