Work done by any force is given by product of force and displacement of the particle and cosine of angle θ between them.

So W=Fscosθ
where F is force applied and s is the displacement of the particle,

SI Unit of work done is Nm and also called Joule(J).
So work done in above case is W=Fs, here θ=0

Given F=1 N, s=1 m

So W=1 J or 1 Nm.
