If $1^{s t}$ excitatime $e^{-}$ of $H$ we atom is $24$ eV then find the binding energy in $3 r d$ excited state.

For Excitation
$E_{4} = E_{1} \times \frac{1}{n^{2}}$
Since $3 r d$ excited state measure $n = 4$
$∴ E_{4} = 24 \times \frac{1}{4^{2}} = \frac{24}{16} e V = 1.5 e V$
