Question

If 10^9 electrons move out of a body to another body emery second, how much time is required to get a total charge of 1C on the other body.

Solution

According to question,

1 sec -----> 10^9 electons

Since we know that charge on one electron is equals to 1.6×10^-19C

1 sec ------> 10^9× 1.6×10^-19C

1 sec ----> 1.6×10^-10C

So,

1/1.6×10^-10(sec) for 1C

Again,

1C=6.25×10^9sec

Hence, 6.25 × 10^9 sec will be required to get a total charge of one coulomb on that body.

6025*10^9 sec = 197.93 years ~ = 198 years
