If 2 is a zero of the polynomial p(x)=x2kx²+kx1 then find value of k.

Open in App
Solution

Given polynomial p(x)=x2kx²+kx1 is zero polynomial if x is 2

Replace x by 2 we get,

p(2)=2(2×k×2²)+(k×2)1=0

28k+2k1=0

6k=1

k=16

Hence, value of k is 16
