Solution

The correct option is A 0.02 J

The flow of energy in a food chain
The sequence of the energy flow in the ecosystem is studied in the form of a food chain with various trophic levels (nutritional status) and is as follows:-
Producers (plant) → Primary consumers → Secondary consumers
According to the 10 % law, only 10 % of energy of the previous trophic level flows into the next trophic level. Hence, the last trophic level will have the least energy.

Energy is present at different trophic levels of the food chain
In the given food chain:-
Plant → mice→ snake→ peacock
20 J is present at the producer (plant) level. Therefore according to the 10 % law the mice will receive 2 J of energy (10 % of 20 J), the snake will receive 0.2 J (10 % of 2 J) and the peacock will get 0.02 J (10 % of 0.2 J) of energy

Final answer
