$∵ (2 k - 1, k)$ is a solution of the equation

$10 x - 9 y = 12$

Substituting the value of x and y in the equation

$10 (2 k - 1) - 9 k = 12 \Rightarrow 20 k - 10 - 9 k = 12 \Rightarrow 20 k - 9 k = 12 + 10 \Rightarrow 11 k = 22 \Rightarrow k = \frac{22}{11} = 2 ∴ k = 2$
