The correct option is B $6$
Given that,
$2 x - y = 4 . . . . (1)$
$x + y = 5 . . . . (2)$
Adding equation $(1)$ and $(2)$ we get, $3 x = 9$
$x = 3$
and $y = 2$
Value of $x y = 3 \times 2 = 6$ .
