Given parabola, y2=8x
2ydydx=8
dydx=4y
Slope of normal of parabola =y4 ..... (i)
Given, 2x+y+λ=0 is a equation of normal of the parabola y2=8x.
Slope of normal =2 ...... (ii)
From Eqs. (i) and (ii), we get
y4=2y=8
(8)2=8xx=8
Now, putting the values of x and y in the equation of normal
2(8)+8+λ=0
λ=24
