$We have : \frac{(30 + x)}{(23 + x)} = \frac{5}{4} On cross - multiplying, we get : 4 (30 + x) = 5 (23 + x) \Rightarrow 120 + 4 x = 115 + 5 x \Rightarrow x = 5$
