If 32 men working 12 hours a day can do a work in 15 days, then how many men working 10 hours a day can do double that work in 24 days? (5 marks)

Let
P1 = 32
P2 = x

H1 = 12
H2 = 10

D1 = 15
D2 = 24

W1 = 1
W2 = 1
(2 mark)

Now apply the formula method, (P1×D1×H1)/W1 =(P2×D2×H2)/W2 (1 mark)

⇒(31×15×12)/1=(x×24×10)/1

x=24
To complete the same work 24 men needed.
To complete double the work 24 × 2 = 48 men are required.
