second number is 5 times of first number


Let the two numbers be x and y
so, 0.4(x+y) =0.6(x-y)
(x+y)(xy)=0.60.4
using componendo and dividendo we get,
(x+y)+(xy)(x+y)(xy)=0.6+0.40.60.4
xy=102
x=5y
