If 4a+5b+9c=36 and 7a+9b+17c=66 then find the value of a+b+c

Given

4a+5b+9c = 36 ......(1)
and
7a+9b+17c = 66 .....(2)

Multiply equation (1) by 2
we get
8a+10b+18c = 72 ....(3)

Substract equation (2) from equation (1)

We get

8a+10b+18c =72 -
7a+9b+17c = 66

= a+b+c = 6
