If ' x ' is Third Proportion of ' a ' and ' b ' .

Then ,

a : x = x : b

x² = ab

x = √ ab

According to the problem given,

a = 5 , b = 45

x = √ ( 5 × 45 )

=√ ( 5 × 5 ×9)

=5 ×3

=15
