According to componendo property of proportion
if a : b = c : d ,then a + b : b = c + d : d.
Here 7 : 9 = 14 : 18 (given)
(7 + 9) : 9 = (14 + 18) :18
16:9 = 32 : 18
Hence 16:9 = 32: 18
