Open in App
Solution

Given, the cost of 9 dozen bananas = ₹ 1,080

Also, 4 boxes of bananas containing 5 dozen each will have
4 × 5 = 20 dozen bananas

We know that, if the number of bananas increase, the cost will also increase.

So,
Number of bananas(x)Cost(y)
x1y1 = x2y2

Given,
x1 = 9 dozen bananas
y1 = 1080
x2 = 20 dozen bananas
and y2 = cost of 20 dozen bananas

91080 = 20y2
y2 = 20 × 10809 = 2,400

Hence, the cost of 4 boxes of bananas containing 5 dozen each is ₹ 2,400.
