Solution

The correct option is A 625
The total number of moles initially and finally must be the same.
Number of moles: PVRT
Initial moles: 500×1500RT+1000×500RT
When the tube is connected, the pressures in both the containers becomes the same. The total volume is the sum of the volumes of both the containers:1500 + 500 = 2000 mL
Final moles: P×2000RT
Initial moles = final moles
P×2000RT = 500×1500RT+1000×500RT
Final pressure P=625 torr
