(ii) ab

Open in App
Solution

Given a2+b2=29 and ab=10

1. a+b

(a+b)2=a2+b2+2ab

a+b=(a2+b2)+2ab

a+b=2a+2.10

a+b=29+20

a+b=49

a+b=7.

2. ab

(ab)2=a2+b22ab

(ab)=(a2+b2)2ab

ab=292.10

ab=2920

ab=9

ab=3.
