Question

If A and B are independent event such that P(A)=310,P(B)=25, then find (i) P(AandB) and (ii) P(AorB)

Open in App
Solution

Given that, A and B are the independent event

And P(A)=310 and P(B)=25

Find

Part (i). P(AandB)

We know that,

P(AandB)=P(A)×P(B)

=310×25=650=0.12

Part (ii). P(AorB)

We know that,

P(AorB)=P(A)+P(B)P(AandB)

=310+25650

=3×5+2×106×150

=15+20650

=2950

Hence, this is the answer.
