Solution

The correct option is A 112
Let A and B be two events such that P(A)=14,P(B)=p and AB.

We have to find which value p does not hold.

We know that, AB if and only if P(A)<P(B)

Since we haveA<B, we get

P(A)<P(B)

Substitute the values of P(A) and P(B).

14<P(B)

14<p

Consider the values given in the options, 112,34,23,13

Test the above p values with 14<p

14>112,14<34,14<23,14<13.

Thus the only value which does not satisfy 14<p is 112.

Hence, if A and B are two events such that P(A)=14 and P(B)=p, the value of p is not 112, if AB.
