Magnitude of A+B is calculated as

A2+B2+2ABcosθ
similarly, magnitude of AB will be
= A2+(B)2+2A(B)cosθ
Now (A+B=(AB

A2+B2+2ABcosθ=

A2+(B)2+2A(B)cosθ
A2+B2+2ABcosθ=A2+B22ABcosθ
4ABcosθ=0
since A and B cannot be zero, so
cos θ=0θ=90ο
hence A and B are perpendicular to each other.
