$b - a = c - b$

$2 b = a + c - (i)$

cubing on both sides

$8 b^{3} = a^{3} + c^{3} + 3 a c (a + c)$

From eq (i)

$8 b^{3} = a^{3} + c^{3} + 3 a c (2 b)$

$a^{3} + c^{3} - 8 b^{3} = - 6 a b c$ .
