The point of intersection of the line ax + by + c = 0 with the coordinate axis are-ca,0 and 0,-cb.

So, the vertices of the triangle are (0, 0), -ca,0 and 0,-cb.

Let A be the area of the required triangle.

A=12001-ca010-cb1A=12-ca×-cb=12c2ab

It is given that a, b and c are in GP.

b2=ac

A=12b4a2×ab=12ba3square units
