x3+2x2+4x+9=0


Given: a,b,c are the roots of the equation x3+2x2+1=0 ___(1)

Using relation between roots and coefficients, we have
a+b+c=2

(a+b+c)2a=22a

b+ca=22a

Let one root is y

y=22a

(y+2)2=a

Since a is the roots of the equation
x3+2x2+1=0

We can replace a by x to generalize it.

- (y+2)2=x

Replace x in terms of y in equation (1)

(y+2)38+2(y+2)24+1=0

(y3+8+6y2+12y)+4(y2+2y+4)+1=0

y32y24y9=0
y3+2y2+4y+9=0

Write the equation in terms of x

x3+2x2+4x+9=0.
