Since (a,b) satisfies the equations y=x22 and y=x2+1, we have
a22=a2+1
a4=2a2+2
2a2+a6=0
2a2+4a3a6=0
(a+2)(2a3)=0
a=2 or 32
Substituting a=2 in two equations we have b=12=3 and b=(2)2+1=3
