Question

If a body gives out 109 electrons every second how much time is required to get total charge of 1 C

Open in App
Solution

Charge on one electron =

1.6×1019

C

Number of electrons in one coulomb = 11.6×1019

We get that 1 Coulomb = 6.25×1018 electrons

Given 109 electrons take 1 sec

Now we can write

=> 109 electrons ------> 1 sec

=> 1 electrons ---------> 1109 secs

=> 6.25×1018 electrons------> 6.25×1018109 secs

Or, 6.25×109 secs

Hence, the time is taken to get 1-coulomb charge is 6.25×109 sec
