But shortly have a magnitude and a direction so you'll say 90km/h or south. However, Scalars have a magnitude only without a direction.
Since the magnitude stayed the same in your example (90km/h), the speed (scalar) will be the same, however the direction changed (the turned around a corner therefore the velocity (vector) changed its direction.
