When a cell is ready to divide by mitosis, the each chromosome is duplicated. The duplicated chromosomes is known as dyad. The chromosomes gets duplicated during S phase of cell cycle. Therefore if 2n = 24 chromosome and DNA is 4C then each cell of diad has n = 12 and C = 8C
