Solution

The correct option is A True
Waste is generated in huge quantities in all big cities, but there is limited space available as dumping sites. Open dumps often serve as breeding grounds for rats and flies. Burning the waste reduces the volume of waste to a huge extent, but generally, it does not burn to completion. The burning of waste also releases massive amounts of polluting gases and particulate matter. Hence, sanitary landfills should be adopted as a substitute for open/burning dumps. Here, the waste is covered and allowed to decompose. Sorting garbage is also another way by which we can reuse and recycle waste.
