Solution

The correct option is B 144,000
Number of days in the month of January = 31
Amount paid to employees in a day =12,000$
Total number of money received by employees in the month of January =12,000×31$

This multiplication can be carried out using two methods.

Method 1–––––––––

12,000×31=12,000×(30+1)

Distributive Property: The product of a number with a sum, is equal to the sum of the products.

12,000×(30+1)=12,000×30+12,000×1
=360,000+12,000
12×(30+1)=372,000

Total number of money received by employees in the month of January =372,000$

Method 2–––––––––
12,000×31 can be evaluated as:

12000
× 31
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯ 12000
360000
¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯¯372000

Total number of money received by employees in the month of January =372,000$
