At the midpoint between the bar magnets, the compass needle will face equal repulsions from both the bar magnet's North poles. So, there will not be any interaction between bar magnets and compass. So, the compass needle will have an extra attraction towards 2 due to the magnetic South Pole of the earth (lies along the geographical north of the earth). Hence, the compass will point towards 2.
