Given : acosθ+bsinθ=m ---( 1 )
asinθbcosθ=n ---( 2 )

Squaring (1) and (2), we get
a2cos2θ+b2sin2θ+2absinθcosθ=m2 ---(3)
and
a2sin2θ+b2cos2θ2absinθcosθ=n2 ---(4)

Adding (3) and (4)
a2(sin2θ+cos2θ)+b2(sin2θ+cos2θ)=m2+n2
or
a2+b2=m2+n2

Hence option D is the answer.
