Find the mean and median of the given dataset:
Arrange the data given in ascending order:
$0, 1, 2, 3, 3, 3, 4, 4, 5, 5$
Mean: The ratio of sum of all observations to that of the total number of observations is considered as mean.
Mathematically, $m e a n = \frac{s u m o f a l l o b s e r v a t i o n s}{t o t a l n u m b e r o f o b s e r v a t i o n s}$
Mean $= \frac{0 + 1 + 2 + 3 + 3 + 3 + 4 + 4 + 5 + 5}{10}$
$= 3$
Median: The middle value of the given set of data when arranged in an ascending or descending manner is considered to the the median. in case, when the observations noted are even in number, the median is considered as the mean of $(\frac{n}{2}) t h a n d (\frac{n}{2} + 1) t h$ term.
Median $= \frac{(\frac{10}{2}) t h t e r m + (\frac{10}{2} + 1) t h t e r m}{2}$
