Solution

The correct option is A tan1(32)
The plane of suspension of needle is making an angle θ=30 with magnetic meridian and in this plane, the angle between needle and horizontal plane is 45. That means the apparant dip =45

δapp = 45

The angle between the plane of needle and magnetic meridian is, θ=30

tan(δapp)=tan(δReal)cosθ

tan(δReal)=tan45×cos30=32

δReal=tan1(3/2)

Hence, option (A) is the correct answer.
Why this Question?
Note: The relation between apparent dip and true dip is given by,

tan(δapp)=tan(δReal)cosθ
