Solution
Attraction and repulsion are the properties of a magnet.
As we know a magnetic material may also attract a magnet.
When the two opposite poles of a magnet are near to each other the attraction takes place and also when a magnetic material is near to a magnet the attraction takes place.
And when the two likes poles of a magnet are near to each other then repulsion takes place.
Hence repulsion is the only surest test of magnetism.
